God Defines Who I Am

christianunionusa

“And that is what we are!” This is my favorite sentence in this awesome verse, because it reminds me that God’s word holds the final authority over my identity. No matter who I say I am, or who others say I am, I am who God says I am. I am lavished with love. I am a child of God. Because God has made it so, it is true. I love the exclamation points in this verse, because it is indeed a reason for us to rejoice.

One implication that follows from this is that in order to know ourselves, we must first know God. I encourage you to intentionally take time today to consider our Father's character as revealed in the Bible.
